Mani and the thoughts that go with it

My sister sent me a text message asking when will I travel to Manila. I asked her why; she replied "kasi po magpapadala daw si mama ng mani". I told her to just send it to our brother in manila, Ramil, and he'll be the one to forward it here in baler.

One of the things that compensates my separation from my family back in Palawan is the thoughtfullness of my mother. When i was in college, far from home, she never failed to make me feel that I am still remembered. My favorite favorite foods are always sent via LBC, one of which is the mani. Nanay knows how nuts I go over her "adobong mani". Iwas touched to learn that although I am already working and living independently, nanay still cares about me.

I am missing them so much. I wish I went home last Christmas instead of staying in Quezon City :-(

I should call them later.

sigh...

cLOSER

that's the title of the song that has got me LSSed for the past two days. I just can't stop, as it says...it was by Neyo who was now officially branded as "Hollywood's newest bad boy" for allegedly beating Rihanna (that's some gossip, eh?).

In college I learned the theory of the "cycle of violence".Once you're in it, there's no way out. Oftentimes, children exposed to domestic violence, whether aimed at them or to a significant person, ends up becoming an abuser themselves. How sad eh?

Anyways, a lot of good news had come these past few days. Aurora Day is now being celebrated in a week or so-long activities. I've spent a good amount of money buying everything that catches my attention including the shirt i am wearing right now. It has a print on it that says "Aurora, Philippines"; originally I bought a pink shirt with surfing ek ek print but when i tried it at home, it didn't fit me so I brought it back to the tiangge. The tindera was sooo bait and she has shown it to me by giving me back my money so I could find something wearable.

I looked at the pictures being exhibited and I kinda liked some of it. I didn't ask if they're selling it, afraid that if they do, the prices won't be at my budget range. I'd rather not know than be disappointed..I particularly liked the shots of Mr. Gonzales - I guess he's already a pro in photography hence the end results are great.

I was convincing my students to go online regularly so that I will no longer need to give them handouts, rather, they can see and download it in my blog. The students do not want that, saying it's too expensive since they have to rent computers and print the materials pa daw...fine!di wag :)

I hope my ex will not find this blog..argghhh!

let's move on, move forward, and move apart!
